Bodensee Day Three

On the third and final day of riding, we got up earlier so we could get home in time so my mom could go and bake bread at a nearby bakery. We had oatmeal and hot chocolate again and stared riding at about 0800. After about an hour of riding, we came to a great section of road that was long, flat, clean and running directly alongside the water’s edge with Swiss hills covered with cows and trees. On this stretch of roads my GPS recorded speeds of up to 30 kilometers an hour at one point, much better than our consistent 18.3 kmh average throughout the weekend. In the picture above, the road can be seen in the left side of the picture. The barely visible shoreline in the middle of the picture is Austria, where we were riding the day before.

A half hour after I took this video we arrived at the Rhine, where the Switzerland-germany border is.

After we crossed back into Germany, we went up a few short, steep hills and after that it was an easy two and a half hour spin back to the car, ending the longest time I have ever spent on my bike!
