Autumn Walk

 

We've gotten the first signs of Autumn over here.

It's *just* now the first flush of change -- the beginning, before the trees and shrubs explode into all those glorious colors. 

The weather has also been really nice, in my opinion.   A little rain here and there -- some blue sky now and then -- all of it wrapped up in breezy-but-not-cold.  Mmmmm....perfect.

One of the finest and most lovable things about Copenhagen is how very quickly a person can get out into WOODS.  It seems like it's right around the corner in every neighborhood!

We thought out little energy bundle ;-) might like a walk through the Autumn Woods today -- and ended up at the Dyrehave. 

We walked for awhile and stopped at this inviting place for a break:

 

Wonderful. :-)

 

Eliza had her own pitcher of cocoa - with whipped cream on the side; (which her dad immediately spooned onto his own cup of milky coffee).

It tastes better when we share......

- and while he was very excited by this, he was just as eager to jump into the owner's arms.

 

Every time we visit the Dyrehave, we see deer -- lots of them, in fact.  They are so used to people, they don't seem to mind us at all.   

There were three does in fact who barely noticed our little fellow straining on his leash.....

....they looked up lazily and went back to eating grass. 

On the way out of the park, we passed by this fantastical reminder that I really *am* in Denmark:

 

Just look at that fence!  That roof!  Those windows!   I'm thinking H.C. Andersen himself would meet you at the door of this house.
