Bebenhausen for Children

Eliza with friends at Bebenhausen.

This is Eliza.

More friends who joined us there....

We  went  to  Bebenhausen.

There  was  a  tour  for  KIDS.

Practicing 'illumination'

We  got  to  write  with  Feasers  [....feathers...]

Inside the abbey, dressed like monks.

We  got  to  dress  up  & we  also  got  to  have  a  treasure  hunt.  It  was  fun!

The tour was designed around solving the mysterious disappearance of Brother Laurentius from Evening Prayer.  They looked all over the abbey, dressed like tiny monks, until they found enough clues to locate the missing Brother, (who had apparently wandered outside the walls for some extra food....)

I thought this was an EXCELLENT tour for children -- combining the dressing-up with arts & crafts and the 800 years of abbey history.  Totally my thing.  Unfortunately, I am older than 12, so was not allowed to go with the group ;-).

All photos were taken, then, by Lars.
