Something that has surprised me this last week, is how very, very interested Eliza and her friends are in SEWING.

Seriously, though -- those girls (
across many playdates) were ironing and stitching like I've never seen. Maybe it's because there aren't so many toys in the house, now.....or maybe it's merely sliding into that therapeutic rhythm that comes from making something by hand.

Eliza was the only one who wanted to stay with hand stitching. The other girls lined up for the sewing machine. I'm secretly glad Eliza prefers the slow and steady hand stitching right now....calm, quiet, soothing.

I recognize that fabric! Am so very glad that it is being but to beautiful use. Wonderful projects, wonderful ways to spend the days left together.
It's the perfect weight for those headbands, too -- so THANK YOU again for sending it! Plus....(you'll love this part) the print has a foal with the SAME coloring as the new baby pony everyone met on the field trip to the stables. So, clearly the biggest decision was where Emma (the foal) would be? In the middle? In the front? Or, on the side trying to crawl into an ear? These girls are full of imagination ;-)
Well, we can't even imagine how happy GG would be with her little namesake enjoying hand stitching like that...my oh my. (It looks like she's out grown her "child's
electric Singer" sewing machine that's here,huh? Onward and upward... :) We do celebrate that good growth, of course. But childhood is slipping away, isn't it? The daily march goes on & on)
